Update from Jane

Visitors today up until about an hour ago have included Faye, Anya, Diane, Ann-Catrin, Liz Young, Ray and myself, my daughter Jeannie, and of course Kelly, Cheri, and Joe. I left with Ann-Catrin and Liz, leaving Ray and our guitars, Cheri and Kelly. So there’s room for more! We can squeeze an amazing number of folks in there, though there are only 3 chairs. Tim, the day nurse, doesn’t mind a bit, and even liked our strange music. Believe it or not, the atmosphere is often quite festive, though often punctuated with tears.

Tim and the team seem to be doing a really good job of prepping her for transport and surgery. They say that the ventilator can stay on during transport, and they may be in the process of giving up weaning her from it. But her blood pressure is better than it’s been for a couple of days, her heart is beating at its own rhythm, though she’s getting anti-atrial fibrillation medication. Hopefully Ray will take an inventory of the meds before he comes home – there are sure a lot of them. Thank goodness for the picc line.

I have no doubt that all the good vibes, both from folks in person and afar, are getting through. The atmosphere today was very peaceful. I especially appreciated having a couple of hours with Patti all to myself, to talk to her and sing.

  1. Dear Patti--

I've prayed for you each morning since learning of what happened. Today, the chaplains held a prayer circle for you in the heart center at the Cleveland Clinic. May the powers of love, and the Mighty Cloud of Witnesses continue to strengthen you.

    Blessings of Healing,

    Jeremy Elliott

We visited Patti on Friday night from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM. She looked good. They nursing staff spent most of the time that we were with her removing the unneeded equipment which was considerable at the time.

We read some poetry to her and read the first eight chapters of the book that was in her brown bag "Mary, Mary." We also brought up some cards that people had dropped off at Starr King School for the Ministry and read them to her as well, we left them with the Teddy-Bear" on the table.

David and I had planned on visiting again on Saturday but I am feeling unwell and do not want to take any chance in getting Patti or anyone else ill so we will just stay away for a couple of days just in case.

All of our LOVE to Patti and her family. Though we are not their in person today you are all in our thoughts and prayers.
