Hi all. Sorry it has taken me awhile to get an update. I was working all day today and I just got a break. Here is an update from Patti's very dear friend Diane:
We just left Patti a short while ago and have some good news to report. Tim, Patti's very kind, attentive and adorable nurse from Alabama, told us her condition was much improved from yesterday. Her O2 level was around 98-99 and was often at 100 while Liz was using her healing hands. Tim said she was breathing well enough that under other circumstances they might start weaning her off the ventilator. The reason for not doing this now is that if surgery is possible in the next few days a ventilator will be necesssary and they don't like to have to put it in shortly after having taken it out. Things seem to change pretty quickly so check back for more on that situation.
I was there with loving friends Bob & Liz Young, Sue Saum, Sandy Westfall, Faye Diskin, and Leisa Huyck. Leisa and Liz led some songs and read Patti's favorite reading by George Odell. I'll look it up and share it with you soon. Just as we were leaving, Susan and Mary Ellen Kirkchaney were arriving. I know Barb Ashby did some meditation with Patti this morning at 7am!
I admit it's not easy for me to see my vibrant, beautiful friend in this condition but it has been a big comfort for me to sit and hold her hand and give her my love. She has always been and will always be a source of strength for me.
In Faith,
Diane

Please feel free to leave comments to Patti that we can share with her. Also you can leave requests if you have a certain reading you would like us to read to her or music you would like us to play for her.
