Thursday 3pm

Patti's blood pressure dropped a little around lunchtime so they started her on some meds and it is back to normal. Her blood sugar has been a little high but they are giving her insulin to regulate that.

They got the PIC line in and everything went fine with that. The doctors said she is not going to be able to be removed from the ventilator today :( But her oxygen level is back down to 50% (it was at 60% most of the day yesterday) and that is a good sign.

Other than that she is pretty stable. She has been pretty heavily sedated today so she is not have those agitated episodes like she was last night.

  1. Thank you for creating this blog. Patti has been an important presence and teacher to me, and your writing helps me feel connected to her. It gives me a way to think about what she is enduring that helps to give better form to my prayers.

Please know that Patti and you and your family are all in my heart, and that I am hoping for the best. I am glad that she is getting the medical care that she needs, and I trust in the hearts, minds, and hands of the people that she is working with at this moment.
