We need your prayers

Hello all. Patti has taken a turn for the worse. All prayers and healing vibes are very much needed right now. We are hoping for a miracle. The family is asking for it's privacy during this sensitive time and please direct your questions to Anya or you may leave comments here on the blog.

  6. Breathing in, Breathing out with Patti and Family.
Patti is a meek, perky, outrageous, inscrutible warrior. Wishing her grace.

  8. I'm reading this at 9:40 at night, feeling very sad and sending all blessings and love to Patti, her family and all who are holding her. Reading the entries I am struck by the immense love and care surrounding Patti, from family and friends of course and from the medical and nursing people. She is a blessing and known as such. That is the miracle she is. Mary Foran, one of Patti's advisees from SKSM

  10. Senator Jacob Javits of New York once said:
The issues in Intensive Care are, I think, three:
Realism, Dignity and love. We stand before the fact of Patti's struggle. We affirm her dignity. We love her.

Blessings to all of you at her bedside, and blessing to her medical staff, as well.

  11. I see the moon out my window, and pray to send it's beauty, solace, and solidness to hold those who hold Patti, even as she holds us, too.

  13. Dear Patti and Those Who Accompany You,

I just learned tonight from Leisa Huyck what has been happening and am holding you and those who love you in my prayers. May the songs, poems and words of love fill your heart. May the health care providers bring you comfort and ease, whatever is in store.

Your help and guidance when I was new at SKSM was helpful and greatly appreciated. I hold the precious treasure of your life in my heart with gratitude.

    Love and blessings,

    Sherrie, MDiv, SKSM 2008

  16. Excerpt from "The Harmony of Healing" meditation by Barbara Rohde:
"Is a miracle supernatural?...Not all bodies will heal themselves. But on those occasions when everything within the wider body is working together--the tremendous skill and caring of the doctors and nurses, the encouragement and love and strength-giving acts of family and friends, the amazing healing powers of the human body itself, and the patient but passionate life-loving spirit within oneself--then this definition of a miracle may apply." MAY IT BE SO--Lovingly, Barbara Ashby
