Hi all. Kelly and I came home last night and got some much needed sleep. When we left Patti was occasionally waking up a little from her sedation and getting very agitated. She appeared to be trying to speak but with the ventilator she cannot so we tried to give her paper and pen to see if she could write anything. She couldn't at the time but we hope to keep trying.
Every morning between 5-7 am they do a chest x-ray to make sure the ventilator tube is in the correct position. They also will be doing that ventilator test to see if she can be extubated (have the ventilator removed). We are crossing our fingers that she will be extubated today because then hopefully she can be less sedated and maybe she can start talking to us.
I have to work all day today but Kelly will be going to the hospital in about an hour and he will be calling me with an update which I will post.
